Hue
Hue is the colour the eye actually perceives – red, blue, green or a transition between them. Laboratories name the dominant colour first and add a secondary hue when it is visibly present, for example «slightly purplish red» for a red with a faint purple tint. Together with tone and saturation, hue describes a gemstone’s colour completely. In every NOBILITH dossier the colour appears exactly as recorded in the laboratory report.
